From Dubai Inspiration to Nationwide Expansion: Our UAE Story

In early 2023, I visited Dubai for what was supposed to be a short holiday. But what I found there had a lasting impact, and ultimately helped shape Clenergy EV’s journey into one of our most exciting new markets.

What struck me most wasn’t just the scale of development, but the clarity of vision. New roads, cutting-edge skyscrapers, gleaming hotels, expansive malls, the entire city seemed built with tomorrow in mind. And although this is a region where fuel is relatively cheap, I was impressed to see genuine momentum behind the energy transition: from large-scale solar deployment to EV charge points integrated into public life.

You’d spot them in hotel car parks. At shopping centres. Even tucked behind the palm-lined boulevards. The infrastructure wasn’t just emerging, it was already being normalised. That was the lightbulb moment. We had to be part of this.

One Year Later: 100+ Sites Live, 1,000+ Charge Points Onboarding

Fast forward to today, and Clenergy EV has now been officially operating across the UAE and Gulf for 12 months. We’re proud to have passed several key milestones:

• Over 100 EV charging sites live

• Around 1,000 charge points currently in onboarding

• Active deployment in shopping centres, hotels, business parks, and public areas

What started as inspiration has become a region-wide growth strategy, and the UAE is fast becoming one of our largest international deployments.

Overcoming Challenges the Right Way

Expanding into any new region involves adaptation. In the UAE, that meant ensuring:

• Full data compliance by establishing a dedicated server hosted within the UAE

• Supporting local currency processing, including AED

• Navigating regional regulatory structures with care and transparency

These foundational efforts have been crucial in building long-term, scalable success, and earning the trust of site hosts and partners across the Gulf.

Next: Launching Arabic App + Deepening Integration

Localisation is central to our strategy. That’s why we’re preparing to launch an Arabic-language version of the Clenergy EV app, designed to make the charging experience as intuitive and inclusive as possible for Gulf-based drivers.

And with demand increasing every month, we’re now exploring further commercial collaborations and potentially opening a local office to support growth on the ground.
